KPI or card of visual selectable

Hello team, maybe it's easy to answer. I want a KPI or card or any similar visual that shows a number that when I click on it you can filter a table below. I can see that with column-bar chart and tables you can do it, but why not with KPIs? Did i miss something?

Regards,

Hello @jonz ,

Directly on the card you don't have that option, but you can create a workaround by following these steps:

  • Create a bar chart filtered by the status you want for each card
  • Create a measure with the following code:
  • BarColour on "#FFFFFF00"
  • Format your bar chart as follows
    • Size just like the card
    • X axis:
      • Minimum category with 180
      • Maximum size 50%
      • InnerPadding 0%
      • Turn off the X axis
    • Y Axis - Deactivate
    • All other settings are disabled
    • Data colors make a condittional format using the BarColour measure
    • Place the chart at the top of the card
    • Turn off interactions with these bar charts and other visualizations that you don't want filtered
  • This can also be done with a pie chart or some chart just what you need to remember is that the color coding should be that of the measure that will make the color white.

See the output below and on the PBIX file connection.

Hi  @Anonymous,

I think that card/KPI visual is not used to interact and filter other visual, which is different from column-bar chart and tables, because they are used to sort and display data, but the card diagram has no filtering function.

Here are relevant documents for your reference:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/service-reports-visual-interactions

If my answer is not what you need, can you share sample data and sample output in table format? Or a sample pbix after removing sensitive data.

Best Regards,

Liu Yang

Hi Miguel, I have above a card with a "10" that tells me that there are 10 projects with large delay, next to another card with a "25" that tells me that there are 25 projects with medium delay. Below is a table with all the projects, I want the 10 below, etc. to be filtered by clicking on 10.

Hi @Anonymous ,

A KPI card is a single value so you are not abble to filter out anything since there is no context to be pass to the other visualizations.

When you have a chart or a table you have more than one value so when you click on one bar or cell you are selecting a subset of values and the other visualizations get filtered accordingly.

What is you exact need? What fo you want to select when you click on the card?
