Issues with "Select all" in slicers when filtering by text

Hello everyone!

I'm having some trouble with slicers in power bi. I have the "select all" option enabled, and I also have a several items in the list that share common words (for example, containing the word "motors").

The problem arises whrn I type "motors" into the slicer's search box:

  • The "Select All" option disappears.
  • I'd like to be able to select all "motors" items without having to click each one individually.

Is there a way to keep "Select All" visible even when I apply text filter? Any solution or workaround to handle this kind of search and bulk selection in the slicer?

Thank you very much for yout help!

Hi @Anonymous , I have just checked my slicers, they behave the same way. You could try to add a Text Filter (this one with a magnifier icon), it will be able to search by all products names that consists of "motor" for example.

Kind regards,
Agata

That's working as designed.  "Select All"  really literally means "All".  It becomes meaningless when you start searching.

Hi @Anonymous ,

The feature you describe is not currently supported.
You can enable the text slicer in the preview features.
This slicer displays only the relevant information containing the entered text.

Use Filter by Powerviz in Power BI AppSource.
