Issue with the DATA gateway corporate and local table that filter the tables on SQL

Hello with powerbi desktop, I can work in the dashboard without problem, this has two datasources one from a SQL database and another from an excel saved on my computer to filter the direct queries from PowerBI to the database.

But when I publish it I have this error someone knows how I can make the imported data of the excel accessible and that I do not fail the synchronization.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Syndicate_Admin ,

You may contact the admin to check this option.

You have reason in point 1 and in point 2, on point 3

3. Try to host the Excel file in the cloud (for example, onedrive/sharepoint), then you can avoid using the gateway.

I already have it in sharepoint (I have created a sharepoint list) but when I add it from powerbi desktop the same thing happens to me as in excel, any idea?

Greetings.

Can you provide a screenshot?

Hi Syndicate_admin,

A few things:

1. Looks like you are not a gateway admin, which means you have no rights to add new data source to the gateway. Any new data source has to be added by gateway admin.

2. The gateway you are accessing is probably not installed in your laptop, so it will not have access to your excel file. You may need to install a separate gateway on your computer

3. Try hosting the excel file in the cloud (eg onedrive/sharepoint), then you may be able to avoid using gateway.

Hope this helps
