Currently Power BI only supports files upto the size of 250MB. If you would like to have this size increased, please add your vote to https://support.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi/suggestions/7276761-increase-file-size-limit-from-250-mb and also specify what should be the per file size limit.
Reduce your file by half.
From:
"Important: In Power BI Preview, the maximum file size is 250 megabytes for any file you upload to your Power BI site."
Difficult to suggest without seeing the table..but as a basic rule the columns with more unique values..and first of all the id/key...Else you can try filtering by date before loading if possible to decrease rows i.e. last 12 months etc..

Thanks for your response!
- Does the size limitation also apply for Power BI Pro (Trial)?
- Any advice on efficient actions in order to reduce the file size? What takes most space in a pbix file?I have one big table with 3 million events and a few smaller tablesand I'm using PowerBI Desktop.
