Hi Everyone,
I'm new in the community, thanks to everyone for the support. This is really helpful for people who wants to start working with Power BI as I do.
I have a quick question:
I'm having some issues importing data into Power BI Desktop:
It's an Excel (.xlsx) file of 45,000 KB, about 320,000 rows, it contains dates from the 31st of January 2019 to the 28th of February 2021.
For some reason when I upload the excel it only returns data up to the 31st of December 2020.
I have no filters applied, and there are no errors in the file.
If it's any helpful, those 5 yellow dots never stop spinning when loading, I understand that I should wait until the whole data is imported but I waited for an hour and stills doing the same. I don't think it's a size issue because I know P.BI can handle bigger files.
I hope anyone can help, if you need more details please let me know.
Thanks in advance
I am fairly new to Power Bi so any help is appreciated 🙂
I have a report that relies on an excel sheet with around 1200 rows (which I update monthly). These rows includue dates and currencies starting from 2021 until now. In the beginning I had no problems inputting in new data to the excel sheet and refreshing the data on Power Bi, as it would correspondlying update itself, but recently it has not been able too. I have my month updated but it only shows the first 9 days and Power Bi has no issues and neither does my excel sheet.
I looked at many of the discussions of restarting Power Bi, checking if the type of data was correct, making sure the excel sheet was closed and so on but none seem to work. In any case here is screenshots of what my data looks like and what I see on my Power Bi.
iam able integrate servicenow with power Bi, when i apply visualization on import data, its showing please look at screenshot.

@MatiasM , 320K not a big number.
Just make sure Excel is closed when you are loading it Power BI. I just doubt, excel is locked for editing.
Also, make sure you are on the latest version of Power BI. Close all open power bi files and try again. In case it still does not load, let us know.
Thank you for your answer.
I have the latest version and Excel it's definitely closed when I'm loading.
Cheers
Hi @MatiasM
In the Navigator dialogue, it only shows a preview of the data and will not show all rows if a table has a large number of rows. This is an expected result. You can select this table and click OK to go on.
If you cannot select this table and go on, you can create a new Excel file and enter some small data in it. Then load this new file into Power BI Desktop. After it is loaded successfully, go to Data source settings and change the data source to the large file.
Kindly let me know if this helps.
