Installing Power BI Desktop RS

Boa tarde;
Gostaria de fazer algumas perguntas sobre o aplicativo Power BI Desktop RS.
Ele só pode ser usado se um servidor Power BI RS estiver instalado? Se for esse o caso, o servidor e o aplicativo de desktop devem estar sempre na mesma versão ou funcionam com versões diferentes (estou falando de atualizações para os aplicativos e o servidor)?

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

Power BI Desktop RS is made to work with Power BI Report Server. While you can install it without the server, it’s mainly used to build and publish reports to that on-prem setup.

To avoid issues, it’s best to keep the Desktop RS and Report Server versions the same. If the Desktop is newer than the server, publishing might not work properly. Older files usually still work after a server upgrade, but not the other way around. So, to stay safe just make sure both are on the same version.
