Infographic Designer

Ive created a chart in infographic designer and replaced the colums with shapes.  Ive used two shapes that were built in and uploaded two shapes (svg files) when i try to add text (using the mark designer) the option to add text is only appearing next to the built in shapes and NOT the uploaded svg shapes.  Any ideas on why i cant add text to all the shapes in the chart?
