Incremental Refresh - possible to load by one date and housekeep by another date

Hi,

We have a sales fact table which has a launch date of product on it and updated_date when the e.g. if get more sales for the product.

We would like to use incremental refresh to load any products which have been updated in last 4 days but to housekeep any rows where the launch date over 2 years old.

We can get data updated for products which launched at any time e.g. we could get sales today for produtcs which launched over a year ago.

Looking at incremental refresh looks like may have to just use the one date.

Is it possible to have a load policy n one date e.g load any sales fact data where updated date >= 4 days ago and archiveing policy by a different dae (i.e. launhc date) over 2 years?

Thanks

Hi @po ,

The product  launch date over 2 years old  may    updated in last 4 days? Then keep the old data not changed?

Could you provide a detail sample to tell about it?(Is  like below)

base table:

productid update_id publish_dt
A 2019/1/24 2022/1/22
B 2021/1/24 2022/1/22

Then A ,B update_dt 2022/1/23,then table to be like below?

productid update_id publish_dt
A 2019/1/24 2022/1/22
B 2021/1/24 2022/1/23
A 2019/1/24 2022/1/23

And you could refer the below data to learn about store rows where column “OrderDate” in the last

Hi,

Example data

After incremental refresh on 15/01/2022

product launch_date, updated_date

A            25/1/2020     14/01/2022

B            20/1/2019      14/01/2022

C            23/1/2022      14/02/2022

After incremental refresh on 25/01/2022 would ideally see below assuming all 3 rows updated in the underlying database on 24/01/2022

product launch_date, updated_date

A            25/1/2020     24/01/2022

C            23/1/2022      24/02/2022

i.e. product B woudl disappear as over 2 years old (launched over 2 years ago)

We can get updates to any of these rows at any date even after 2 years.

What ideally woudl like incremental refresh to be able to do is have keep last 2 years worth of data based on the product launch date and

We have the 2 dates but it looks like incremental refresh in power bi only works by the one date (i.e. have to housekeep/archive and load by same date i.e. can only choose one date.

Is this the case?

Are there any plans to allow such a possibility in power bi in future  i.e. keep data by one date by load by another date.

Thanks
