Incremental Refresh - SQL Query

This is my first time trying to setup an Incremental Refresh and I'm having some issues with Query Folding. 

I'm literally using:

Select *
From DataRefresh

MS SQL statement to pull data into Power BI but I'm still not able to see the View Native Query option in Power BI. 

There are many videos on setting up the IR but none really get into the details on how to troubleshoot. 

Any help on this would be helpful. I've been coming the web on help all day on this but I've reached my end on this.

@RAdams are you putting this query direct in Power Quey or it is your view from the back end?

@parry2k I am using Direct Query. It's the standard SQL option when importing data. I've not changed any of the defaults.

@RAdams you are saying two things, are you importing data or it is direct query?
