Improving Power BI Desktop Performance

Hi

How to improve Power BI desktop performance?

Presently I click and wait and wait and wait before control is returned. Building measures is painful as resolving errors is a very slow process.

Getting anything done is like wading through sand.

Laptop is and i5-7200 @ 2.5GHz and 8GB RAM. But I am wondering if the 130 other process (anti-virus, anti-spam, security, updates, intel stuff, adobe stuff, sophos stuff, microsoft stuff) are causing me some problems. I say that in that I can use Excel happily and suffer none of the slowness issues I'm getting with Power BI.

Each Power BI updates seems to be even slower than the previous version.

Suggestions?
