Dear all,
we are preparing dashboards from Google Analytics data in PowerBI.
We encountered a problem:
When using Date dimension, in PowerBI, it should be possible to use this feature - Date hierarchy (thanks for an image to asocorro http://community.powerbi.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/1564):
You may see that it is possible to visualize data based on Day, Month, Quarter or Year and therefore change the level of detail.
However, when we download our data from Google Analytics, we cannot see these options.
We download "date" dimension, which includes information about a month, day and year. However, in the date hierarchy, it is only possible to see "year".
Does anyone know, what is the problem? What should we do?
is it Date Data type from source, if yes it should work
could please double check ?
or post your data structure
Thank you Sarr for your question.
This is the data structure:
@kendash The hierarchy view for date type is only available in certain visualizations. For those ones not available, you can only see one level of the hierarchy (you can actually pick which level through a workaround, just can't see all of them at once)
Which visualization are you using?
Thank you for your answer.
I can see it now, for Line Chart it is not possible, but it works for some visualisations.
Thank you
