Imported SQL Server table's columns are being automatically summed - i don't want that

Hi,

I imported data from a sql server table.  But somehow the integer columns are being automatically summed.  Is this summing of integer columns on by default?  How do I turn it off?

Thanks,

Lloyd

Hi, @lhs

As az38  mentioned, the aggregation in your requirements is simply a standard feature of Power BI. I understand your confusion, but you may soon find that this is a very useful capability.

When applying columns to visualisations, you only need to right-click on the corresponding column to select the aggregation method.

It's important to note that the available aggregation methods can vary depending on the data type and the type of visualisation.
For instance, in a bar chart, if your data type is text, the default aggregation method will be the count you’ve observed.

However, if the data type in the same bar chart visualisation is numeric, the aggregation method will differ.

In a table visualisation, you also have the option to choose not to aggregate.

I hope my explanation is clear enough for you to understand.

hi @lhs

this sum  symbol does not mean the values are summed. It just highlights numeric columns. just interface feature
