Import data from SQL source via Button

Hi everyone!

I have an import in PBI via SQL, where we change the date (for a day-on-day comparison) manually in the source. I would like to have a button for users in the report, where the user can select the respective date and then the SQL import of the data will be according to the chosen date. Is this somehow possible?

Many thanks!

Hi @Anonymous,

AFAIK, they are work on the different levels and you can't directly pass the filter selections from date view to the backend query tables.

Notice: the data level of power bi(from parent to child level)

Database(external) -> query table(query, custom function, query parameters) -> data model table(table, calculate column/table) -> data view with virtual tables(measure, visual, filter, slicer)

@Anonymous , If you are in import mode, you can use time intelligence to compare data , why you want to load data again and again
