Hey guys and gals,
I have the desire to have my date slicer default to the most recent reporting period. I know that you can toggle between relative-date slicer, dropdown and list (and perhaps other modes) when developing your report, however this cannot be done when viewing a published report.
It would be nice to have either of the following solutions:
A. The ability to toggle between slicer modes remains enabled and is somehow made more visibly apparent than the current format in which you must click small down-arrow in the top-right corner of the slicer when header is turned on).
B. The slicer options include a relative-date default selection setting. For example, select current month by default.
Cheers,

Hi PowerBSer,
Unfortunately the default slicer hasn't been supported until now. This idea here: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/7162004-default-selected-slicer-o.... As a workaround, maybe you can create a custom column using power query. You can refer to this similar thread: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Setting-the-Default-Value-of-a-Slicer/td-p/16442.

Ahhh, indeed this is the same topic and I am glad to that see it has many votes.
The calculated column workaround is brilliant. Thank you.
