IBM Db2 Connector Issues

Is there a known issue with the IBM DB2 connector? I've been using this connector for a while now and recently got a new PC and having issues getting it to work. I thought it may be a driver issue but i opened a case with IBM. IBM said there is an issue with the data/connection request being sent from Microsoft. It is not compatible with establishing a DRDA connection with your IBMi system so no connection was able to made.

Also, after typing my user id and password I click the connect button and it just spins. You can then see the request hitting my IBM I machine, but the system doesn't recognize the request it's sending.

Hi @trentsb55  ,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.

The IBM Db2 database connector, when using the IBM Db2 driver for .NET, doesn't work with IBM i systems.
In this scenario please try to connect using Microsoft driver and check if it is able to create a connection.
You can find the option to select Microsoft driver in Advanced options.

Sorry i've been out of office the last few days. I've still not gotten this connector to work on my new laptop. I also got IBM support to look into the issue and this is there response.

"There is an issue with the data/connection request being sent from Microsoft. It is not compatible with establishing a DRDA connection with your IBMi system so no connection was able to made.

Please reach out to Microsoft and update this case once you have a resolution or if you have any other questions for us."

Hi @trentsb55 ,

Could you please confirm whether you've attempted to connect using the Microsoft driver and whether it successfully established a connection or not.

Additionaly Please verify if the IBM DB2 driver is correctly installed by Opening Windows PowerShell on your machine and enter the following command:
[System.Data.Common.DbProviderFactories]::GetFactoryClasses() | ogv

In the dialog box that opens, you should see the following name in the InvariantName column:

IBM.Data.DB2. If this name is in the InvariantName column, the IBM Db2 driver has been installed and configured correctly.

Also check out the driver limitations

and if any particular point is causing the issue you are experiencing.
