So here's my problem. All I really wanted to do was make a table with ONLY rows.
No columns were needed, but I wanted to be able to drill down on a notes field. I didn't want to bring the notes field into the report but because it would cause the lead data to be duplicated by how ever many notes there were. I wanted to drill down. I couldn't figure out how to do that in a normal table. None of the recommendations worked.
So I decided to make a matrix and do a count as a value on the Notes. Now I can right click on that count and click "See Records." Works for me. The only problem I have now is the HubSpot score does not sort properly anymore.
WHy can't we simply sort by a row in a matrix?
So, it seems that for reasons that are not entirely obvious, that we cannot sort on Row items; the sort is fixed on the first row header i.e. ID in the following examples.
But we can sort on Values, so it may (depending on the data being displayed) be possible to change the dataitem from a Row item to a Value. To do this, we do need to add a function, but if the data only has a single value per row which is often the case, the First/Last functions work fine.
The first example shows that even though the sort ascending arrow is on RAG, the sequence remains on the first row header: ID.
In the second example, RAG has been changed to a value and uses the "First" function. Now the matrix can be sorted by RAG (descending). Note the vertical blue line that separates row headers from values
Hi @Zarlot531,
Not really sure what is the expected result that you want, but if you, and what you mean by sorting by row, but if you select the 3 dot's on top of the visual there are several options to sort you table.
Can you please elaborate better on result and options you need, if possible explain you first idea and a mockup of you data.

MFelix

Check out my blog: Power BI em PortuguêsSee, the problem is that when I sort by Hubspotscore (even if I do it by clicking on the 3 dots you suggest) it doesn't sort properly, even though it says it's sorted. You can see that this is sorted by the down arrow in my attached jpeg. But the sort is wrong.
The sort actually appears to be by Company Name, which you can't see.
