I do not see the folders shared by sharepoint when connecting them to power bi Destktop

Good morning.

Could you please help me with the following case. I have already built some boards with information extracted from folders shared by sharepoint which work without novelty, however, for a while here my power bi desktop no longer connects with new folders shared by sharepoint. I have already verified the URL and everything should work normally, as it already works with other addresses that as I said, are already connected.

It should be clarified that:

1. When connecting to previously shared folders if it is possible to view the files.

2. It only happens with new connections.

3. The connection attempt was made from another computer with other users and even with my own user and IF IT WORKED.

Attached image of when it does not show file information and other sharepoint that does show it.

Thank you for your help.

The site you're connecting to looks like a OneDrive site. Is this your OneDrive site, or someone else's OneDrive site?

The folder connector requires read access to the site root, so if it's someone else's OneDrive site you will have trouble. I would recommend moving the files to a shared team SharePoint site if possible (better for business continuity anyways).

When you encounter issues with connecting to new folders shared by SharePoint in Power BI Desktop, it can be frustrating. Here are some steps to help you troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

1. Check SharePoint Permissions:
>Ensure that you have the necessary permissions to access the new SharePoint folders. Sometimes, SharePoint permissions are set at a folder or file level, so double-check that you have access to the specific folders you're trying to connect to.

2. Clear Cached Credentials:
>Cached credentials can sometimes cause issues. Clear the cached credentials by following these steps:
>Close Power BI Desktop.
>Press Win + R, type "Control Panel," and press Enter.
>Go to "User Accounts" > "Credential Manager."
>Under "Windows Credentials," look for any cached credentials related to SharePoint or Office 365, and remove them.
>Restart Power BI Desktop and try connecting to SharePoint again.

3. Update Power BI Desktop:
>Ensure that you are using the latest version of Power BI Desktop. Outdated versions may have compatibility issues with SharePoint. Download and install the latest version if necessary.

4. Check URL Format:
>Verify that you are using the correct URL format for connecting to SharePoint. The URL should start with "https://" and include the site name and library or folder path.

5. Test from Different Locations:

>Since you mentioned that the issue occurred on your computer but not on others, try connecting to SharePoint from different locations or networks to see if the problem persists. It could be related to network or firewall settings.

6. Firewall and Security Software:
>Sometimes, firewall or security software on your computer can block connections to SharePoint. Ensure that your firewall and security software are not causing the issue.

7. Test with a New Workspace:
>Create a new workspace in Power BI Desktop and attempt to connect to the new SharePoint folders from there. Sometimes, workspace-specific settings or cache can cause problems.

8. Contact IT or SharePoint Administrator:
>If the issue persists and you've ruled out local issues, consider reaching out to your organization's IT department or SharePoint administrator. They may be able to provide insights or assist with troubleshooting.

9. Reinstall or Repair Office 365:
->f SharePoint is part of your Office 365 subscription, you can try repairing or reinstalling Office 365. This can help resolve any underlying issues with Office components that may be affecting SharePoint connectivity.

10. Check SharePoint Service Status:
>Occasionally, SharePoint Online may experience service disruptions. Check the Microsoft 365 Service Status (https://status.office365.com/) to see if there are any known issues that might be affecting SharePoint.

By following these steps and troubleshooting systematically, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue that's preventing you from connecting to new SharePoint folders in Power BI Desktop.
