I have a semantic model that is invisible in report builder using exclusively import methods that pull from sql server. I have it uploaded to my workspace but can't see it when I try to load it into Report Builder. I have admin rights in the workspace so I should have the necessary build permissions as well as a PPU license. Why can't I see the semantic model and what can I do to fix this?
Hey all,
So we had the same issue and fixed it by doing the following:
1. Go to start -> run
2. Type in %localappdata%
3. Windows -> Power BI Report Builder
4. Delete msal.cache
Hope this helps!
I have the same issue with a couple of new reports. I've also re-published a semantic model under different names and can't see these either. Seems to be a recent issue.
Hi @Anonymous , was there any solution to this? I have also encountered this issue. My report builder can see some semantic models from my workspaces, but not all, and in fact it seems to be able to see some that no longer exist online (attempting to use these causes a permission error that I don't get from existing models), could there be a caching issue in local files or any way to refresh what can be selected in report builder data source selector?
@cscotty really strange. Wondering if you already logged into correct tenant. Just seeing if that could be the case, although at my end I do see models in "my workspace"

I can see other reports I've worked on. Just not this one
Hi @cscotty ,
May I ask if you have resolved your issue?
Based on the information you've provided, as per normal, it should come up with the Semantic Model you're trying to use.
So I think you can check this blog and maybe it can help you:

This is just guidance on how to connect. I'm getting the same issue as the OP and followed the steps in this blog
@cscotty when you try to connect to semantic model in report builder, do you see "my workspace"?

Yes although nothing appears inside the workspace and it doesn't appear in the 'Shared with Me' section either
