How we manage or documenting Data Model

Hello everyone,

I;m here seeking an advice on how are we best manage Power BI Data Model or any other BI artefact, especially when we will start implementing it from Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain ? 

Might need some "starting point like for example how are identtify and dcoumenting your Entities that going to use in Power BI or how you documenting the Data Model Design ? is it create in Visio or Excel before design the relationship in Power BI ? stuff like that.
