How was this airline solutions flight plan visualization created?

mattiarusso you can place an image as a separate object and stick it behind the visual. That's almost certainly how the example was done.
I tried but it does not seem to come out the same result. the planes in the middle serve as a filter for the visual, but I do not think have been obtained with a slicer x.
Oh I was just looking at the screenshot. It might be a chiclet slicer positioned over the bowtie.
