I have a direct query pbix file that i worked on. And I am handing it to my co worker as he will take it over. But it seems that he can't open the file saying he don't have the credentials. He is signed into PBI. I have opened someone else's imported PBI file before and changed it to my credentials to make it work, but this is directquery. How can I share the directquery pbi file with him?
Hi @wpf_ ,
I agree with amitchandak, Power BI Service is a good choice to share your report with your coworker. You need to install the standard gateway and configure the credentials of datasource in gateway correctly and then share your report with your coworker. Your coworker can work with the shared directquery report.
For reference:
Install an on-premises data gateway
Add or remove a gateway data source
Manage your data source - SQL Server
Share Power BI reports and dashboards with coworkers and others
If you still want to share your pbix file with your coworker, your coworker should have the access to your data source. For example, if your data source is SQL server, you need to add your coworker's domain in your Security and set the user and password. Then coworker can login in your data source in Power BI by that account.

@Anonymous By sharing report, they would only be able to view the report but would they be able to download the pbix and open and work with the file under his credentials by just sharing? He does have access to the data source.
