How to separate values in chart

I would like to separate the Products Included column into distinct values. The bar chart should have separate bars for Policy, Risk, Compliance, and Vendor.

For example, Policy is included on three rows (Citigroup, Chevron, and American Express) so I would like a bar called Policy to show $2,010,000. How do I delimit these values so each "Products Included" value shows up as a separate bar?

You need to use below steps to achieve this.

  • In query editor, select your column "Products Included in Deal" and click on "Split Column Option. See below for reference.

Split by Delimeter.png

  • Now select Semicolon as your delimeter and other highlighted option as below;

  • Now your "Products Included in Deal" Column will be slpitted into multiple columns.
  • Select all the new columns and click "Unpivot" under Transform tab as below

  • Now your columns will be unpivot to two columns. one "Attribute" having heading only and other "Values" having product. Remove the column "Attribute" having header values.

  • Rename Values column to "Product"
  •  Apply and close the Query editor.
  • Now create Bar chart and select "Product" and "Deal Size" column. You can see your products on X-Axis and sum of their deal size on Y axis.
