How to refresh the data automatically in the visuals

Hello Folks,

I have got 2 questions:

1. I am getting my data from Common Data Services so the question is what is the best practice to get the data automatically at a given intervals (every 1h, 24h, 48h, etc)

2. After getting the data, the newly data is not shown in the visual by default - how to instruct Power BI to include those data as well ?

Thanks.

As I can see Common Data Services from Power App is not listed in the above list you shared - means not supported.

I confirmed the same with the support at Microsoft.

Regards.

Hi @Anonymous ,

As the document mentionded, page refresh is applied on the whole page, not for a single visual. If you are using Direct Query mode to connect datasource, you can enable this option to set page auto-refresh, it will refresh all visuals in this page.

@v-yingjl How to know if I am using Direct Query mode ?

Thanks and regards,

Hi @Anonymous ,

It depends on your datasource. If your datasource is like SQL Server... when you connect it, you can choose the connect mode:

If you have connected to a datasource but forgotten its connection mode, you can see it in the lower right corner of power bi desktop:

In addition, here is a list of data sources which supported Direct Query mode:
