I have Free PBI Desktop v2.100.1182 (64 bit free version Dec 2021) on Windows 10.
PBI lets me open 2 or 3 instances of the same PBIX file at the same time. Is there a setting to allow only one instance of a PBIX file to be opened?
There is no easy straightforward to block opening of new files 🙂
Also, not sure why you said 2 or 3. There is no hard limit of the No of instances you can open.
I assume if you reach the limit of the memory of your computer than it will just stuck, but no limit as X numbers of PBIX open.
Hope that helps
Thank you. I'm trying to prevent the same hourly.pbix file from opening 3 times. It's confusing. Currently, any PBIX file can be opened many times. This causes clashes if I make one change in one instance of hourly.pbix, and make a different change in hourly.pbix file because I don't realize the same file is opened twice.
