Hi everyone, im newbie to powerbi. Wanted to find out what is the best practise to handle dataset with many columns? My dataset contains abt 60 columns(excluding the calculated columns), feel abit confuse when creating the visuals as the list are getting longer with the calculated columns. Some columns are irrelevant to my visuals but i cant remove them. May i know what is the best way to manage them? Should i create a new table and pick those relevant columns for my visuals? Or break my original table into few tables & build model?

If you have 60 columns i would imagine that you can normalize the table, also, you should only import the columns that could be usefull to the report. You can do that transformations in power query.
Bellow there is a video of an example of data normalization in power bi.

Hi
What is your data source? And are you using Import Mode or Direct Query?
Currently Im using import mode. Import flat file downloaded from another system.
