How to make a relationship, no distinct columns

hello,

i have 2 tables.  Table 1 = 764 rows, Table2=9384 rows.

i keep getting error messages saying " relationship cannot be created, because 1 of the columns must have unqiue values"  through 1 does have have unique values...

any otpions?  thanks

Hi @ilcaa72,

Your table with unique values must not include a blank row.

Can you check whether this is the case?

If you create a table with twice the key in the columns, once as text and once as count, you can check whether certain values appear twice or if your table includes blank rows.

If there is even one of the values repeated it is not Unique.

Manually set the relkationship:

Go to the Schema View 

Click on Manage Relationships

Select the table with Many data points (top section), highlight the column to link

Select the table  with unique values (bottom Section), highlight the column to link

Cardinality: Many to one

Cross Filter direction: Single

If that doesn't work you may have to make a table to go between them that has nothing in it but the unique values.
