How to make a Reset button for synced slicer?
- Enable the Selection pane then group your slicers (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/desktop-grouping-visuals).
- Repeat for each page.
- Insert a button (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/desktop-buttons?tabs=powerbi-desktop)
- Repeat for each page.
- Enable the Bookmark pane.
- From any page, select the slicer group from the Selection pane
- Choose to Add a new Bookmark from the Bookmark pane.
- Right-click on that new bookmark and change selections so only "Data" and "Selected Visuals" have a checkmark.
- Right-click the bookmark again and choose to update.
- Apply that bookmark to your newly created Reset button on each page.
- That's it
Now the reset button will reset all filters in that group across all pages and you can disregard the built-in reset button at the top of the Power BI menu bar. The only time I've found that option necessary is when using the cross-report feature.
I've found that same 'selective reset' helpful to differenciate between calendar slicers and other groupings of slicers.
Enjoy!
