How to import SQL files to Power BI
Dear All,
I would like to ask you how can I import two SQL files that I've downloaded to Power BI as I have no experience with SQL servers. I've only downloaded an application called "Microsoft SQL server Management" but I don't know how to go further?
Thanks in advance 🙂
Hi Trooz
Ifthis is SQL Server .BAK files, just restore the .bak files to any SQL Server and use that. You could also take it a step further and just use the SQL Server as an intermediary and create bacpac files of them so that you can run the SQL Server using something low cost like Azure SQL DB.

Trooz , It not clear you want to connect to SQL server of having sql statement which you want to run
Refer
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-gateway-sql-tutorial
If you want to give a SQL, you can give under advance option

amitchandak Hi Amit thank you for your reply and I'm sorry for not being clear enough.
I've checked the links you provided but unfortunately I didn't understand properly how can I fix the issue.
Simply I have those two SQL files (That include the table which I should work on)
When I click "SQL server" on Power BI
I'm asked to enter the SQL server which I don't know ... As you saw I have the files on my local device so (I want to create a local server to upload these files then get connected to this server and use the files) this is what I understood , I don't know if this works as I explained or I should follow another way to import these files on Power BI .
