How to hide empty columns in a cluster column chart in small multiples

Hello all,

I have a chart detailing when certain tickets were created over a period of time. Since this goes over multiple years, I created a small multiple cluster bar graph seen here.

When viewing the years seperately, the months without any tickets created are not shown, however when the years are combined the months do show.

My data is done as below:

With the filters being the basic Year, Month, and a Total Team that only shows items when the value is bigger than 0. Since the page is only so big, I could like to make it more readable by removing empty months. I think it's an issue with values exist in a month in another year, which results in the month showing in the current year. (Jan 2023 has tickets, but Jan 2022 does not have any, and combining the two years shows Jan in 2022).

Is there a way or workaround to remove the empty months?

Thanks in advance.

Hi  @topkek ,

As far as I know, PowerBI automatically duplicates several X-axes when you use the small multiples feature so that they appear the same. This is more beautiful in display, but 0 or empty values will not be automatically removed like the visual without small multiples feature.

I can reproduce your issue on myside.

Your demand is a good idea but not supported in Power BI currently.

I suggest you to submit a new idea  .

Best Regards,

Rico Zhou
