How to have PowerBI generate an excel sheet

Hi,

I have a PowerBI Report that shows inconsistencies between multiple data-sets and I am able to get this visualized on the report no problem, however I was curious if there is functionality so I can click a button and it will take the data for a specific inconsistency and generate an excel sheet with the data for that.

I'm not if this is possible, but any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi @Anonymous ,

Not really sure if I understand your question but currently you have  3 options that you can use two are more straigth to the point but maybe it will not return the values has you need, the other is more technical.

  • Use the export data option from Power BI
    • If you click the tree dots on top of the visualizations you have an option to export data in this case this generates a CSV file with the data you are presenting

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/visuals/power-bi-visualization-export-data

  • Analyze in excel - This connects directly to your datasource and place the information in  excel then you can create your analizes in excel.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-analyze-in-excel

  • Use the Power Automate visual to create an automation to create the excel file and all the information you need, in this case you need to have more techical expertise

https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/announcing-the-new-power-automate-visual-for-power-bi-reports/

This are some of the options, if you check online you can find more details on this and other options.
