How to get data from password protected website?

Hi all,

I want to get data from a password protected website. I found this article but no one ever responded to it. Does anyone know if it is possible to connect to a password protected website from Power BI? If yes, how? Thanks!

Hi @Anonymous thanks for your suggestion - do you mean connect via API in Power Query? This would mean I have to create a dynamic url, which prevents me from automated refreshing in Power BI Service. In the meantime, found out two other options to import data from password protected website:

• Create custom connector
• Use Power Automate to get the data and then import them into Power BI

Hi @PunchBird ,

You may try Get Data > Web from the Home ribbon and do research into The Advanced Editor in Power Query Editor.

Check the M query in advance editor and find if there's any papameter that connect with password.
