How to fix Invalid Certificate on postgresql server.

I have PBI v2.98 on Windows 10. I'm trying to connec to our company database which is a Postgresql server v9.6.17. Out Postgresql server is hosted in a black box on our site, not on any other third-party service.

I'm trying to connect a table via Get Data, Postgresql. I entered in the database info and get this error:
"An error happened while reading data from the provider: 'The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure.'"

I'm not the IT guy so I don't deal with certificates. How would I go about fixing this? What should I tell our IT guys?

I'm pretty new to PBI myself and am just learning how to connect tables and do a simple query via a table viz.

Thank you!

Hi @croberts21 ,

The problem can arise for several reasons, and in my opinion, you can use the following alternatives.

You can connect PostgreSQL using ODBC Connection.

Setup ODBC for PostgreSQL: https://www.postgresql.org/ftp/odbc/versions/msi/

After Installation, Select ODBC Connection under "Get Data"

Select "None" under Data Source Name and add following statement under connection string:

Driver={PostgreSQL ANSI(x64)};Server=<host>;Port=5432;Database=<dbname>

Click "Next"

Enter Username and Password, Click Connect. If credentials are correct, you will see list of tables available in database.
