How to filter slicer options based on if a single row is selected on another table?

First of all, hello folks. First post here.

Posting because I am stuck getting a slicer to do what I want it to do.

Here are the details:

project_status_diagram.jpg

The goal is to hide the History Slicer unless only one project is selected in the Projects Table.

I have my History Slicer filtered to only "Show History" because that's all I want shown for this particular slicer.

I created a Measure (SelectedRows) on Projects to count the number of selected rows (COUNTROWS(ALLSELECTED(Projects)).

When I put this measure in a test table, it correctly changes and shows either the total number of visible rows, or 1 if I select one in the grid.

I added a Visual Level Filter to my test table for SelectedRows = 1. When a row is selected, I see a row in the visual. When all rows are selected, no rows are shown in the test table. This is the desired behavior.

If I take that same test table and turn it into a slicer, same filters in place, it just won't show anything at all.

I'm guessing this is something specific to slicers, but I'm not experienced enough to know where I'm going wrong, or if this is even the correct way to deal with it.

If this isn't enough to go on, I can strip down my pbix file tomorrow and post it.

In the meantime, any help is appreciated!

Hi @mbiasetti ,

Please have a try.

Create a measure.

measure=if(SelectedRows = 1,blank(),max('table'[project]))

Hello again. Unfortunately, the same behavior persisted with the suggested measure.

Please check here for the pbix and data source file: ForumUpload

The slicer in question is right next to the title of the Project Status table. The bottom table shows the relevant measures and is what I was using to try and get visibility.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

I will give that shot today and upload my PBIX if it doesn't work. Thank you!
