How to extract data from a BI Export with power automate

Hi togehter,

I would like to extract (or push) data from an power BI report (KPI) with power automate in oder to use it futher.
What I tried: create an online flow to extract the data to pdf in order to read it from there; but I get the error: "Report requested for export is not on dedicated capacity"; I do have power bi premium per user. I've read that thats sufficient enough for that purpose, eventhough the error says something different.

Does anyone know how to do that?

That would be great.

Cheers, Roman

Hi @Roman_bi ,

It seems that you are trying to extract data from a Power BI report using Power Automate. You mentioned that you have tried to create an online flow to extract the data to PDF in order to read it from there, but you received an error message "report requested for export is not on dedicated capacity". You also mentioned that you have Power BI Premium per user.

Yes, having a PPU license will serve this purpose, but make sure your report is in the dedicated capacity.

It is possible that the report you are trying to export is not on a dedicated capacity. You can check if the report is on a dedicated capacity by going to the Power BI service, find the workspace where you hold the report and check the workspace settings. Your workspace should be a license mode for PPU.

@Roman_bi I think with PPU there is a limit on how many exports you can do in x number of minutes.
