How to create a measure to get monthly data from another data table?

Hi everyone,

I'm new using power bi, and i need some of your help, I'm trying to create a measure to get the same filter result as if it was made from the data table, this is the result I'm looking for (image1) so i began with the basics using Tons = CALCULATE(SUM(Tons [Tons])) getting image2 as a result but i don't know what else to do to show the result either by month, quarter or year once putting the measure in visualizations and slicers.

Hi @BSM23 ,

It seems that the row field does not filter values, check the relationship first.

Your formula sums up every value of Tons.
Why do you use CALCULATE? You just need a breakdown of SUM of Tons by month, SUM(Tons[Tons]).
If you don´t want adjust filter context (e.g. set filter on specific dimension) you don´t need CALCULATE in your formula.
