How to create a map visual

Hi All,

I am trying to create a map visual for a report demonstrating the approval status for different countries. The idea is that the eight countries' data (Example: USA, UKI, South Africa, etc.) is recorded, and on the map the countries are highlighted and change colour depending on approval status.

My issue is that whenever I drag a country onto the map data group, it just populates and highlights Belarus. Obviously, Belarus isn't the country I want to highlight. How do I get the correct countries to be highlighted? I shouldn't have an issue with the conditional formatting. I'm a beginner so putting things as simply as possible would be really helpful. Thank you.

@AMcMasterSage Sounds like you should use a Filled Map and you will want to make sure that your Data Category for your country name column is set to Country.
