I would like to create a slicer/parameter with three categories - Day , Month and Year and based on selecting any one category the report/visual changes. The below image has an axis of month as by default the month category is selected. Similairy by selecting the day and year the axis needs to be changed.

Hello UditJ
My suggestion is that you use Fields Parameters.
Take a look at this exmaple:
https://www.sqlbi.com/articles/fields-parameters-in-power-bi/
On your case you will choose year / month / day as parameters.
Best regards

I agree with @onurbmiguel_ , Field parameters revolutionized our life.
We can either use it with fields (columns) from tables or even measures.
What a blessing from Power BI 🙂
Hope I was of assistance!
Cheers
