Dear friends,
I have a question about how to copy and move the field parameter from one desktop pbix file to another. I am working to create a Power BI desktop report, which is based on data file with similiar data structure (same variables but different time scale) of data of another Power BI report I have created.
Using the tablular editor, I have copied/moved the DAX measures from the old report to the new one. I have also copy/paste the visuas page from the old report to the new one.
One visual is line chart that should show the value of several measures selected fro a field parameter (as Y axis, shown below).
As I have revised this field parameter values (changed measure names) and added a further column (definition), I don't want to recreate the field parameter from scratch in the new report. So I copied/pasted the old field parameter measure text and create a new field parameter table, as shown below.
The slicer of the new field parameter is fine. However, the linechart visual is not showin the values of
the measures in Y axis. It just displays a value of 1 for "count of SelectedMeasures". It seems field parameter is not simply a Dax Measure table. But I wonder what is working behind it? How can I tweak the field measure table to make it work as in the original field parameter. Or Can I just copy / move the whole parameter table from the old report to the new one using Tabular Editor?
Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi @Anonymous ,
If you have the table, you should just be able to right click on it and copy it (in Power Query) and then go to the second Power BI report in Power Query and paste it there.
Otherwise, I think you are right that you can do this in Tabular Editor (if I recall correctly you have to have it open twice??? Once from each file?)

Thanks, @collinq .
I was able to copy the parameter table in Power Query of the old report and paste to the new report (also in Power Query.
