How to copy a table into another file?

I can use a certain table from one report into another report. How do I copy this one into the other?

  • Hi Anonymous ,

Just navigate to the Modelling section in Power BI Desktop.

Then select the table you want to copy and just right-click on one of the columns of the table and you get an option to Copy Table:

The  go to your another power BI file and select option Enter Data to paste the copied table:

But this way is only suggested when you don't have a huge number of rows in the table as it has certain limitations on number of rows you can copy from a table.

Would 42,000 ROWS fail with this method? I tried but it did not work for me. Pragati11 do you have another method that could work?

You ca connect to the same data-source and bring this table into your new Power BI file.

    Hi Anonymous ,

If you dont need any other table apart from that report then you can directly connect to dataset of that report.

    Thanks,

    Samarth
