Hello,
I have two tables. A historical data table and a current data table. I have an index column in the historical table. How do I add an index column in my current data table that starts with where the historical table ends?

Hi, @buttercream
Thanks for the replies from ryan_mayu and Greg_Deckler. You can try their method, or try the following way.
1. Re-adding column Index.1
2. Sort descending and get the value corresponding to Index
3. Add an Index column to the current table starting with 5

How to get your questions answered quickly -- How to provide sample data in the Power BI Forum
Just like what @Greg_Deckler mentioned.
You can try do this in PQ
= Table.AddIndexColumn(#"Changed Type", "Index", List.Max(Table[Index]), 1)
pls see the attachment below

Thanks. Almost there. I should mentin that I'm looking to append the current data to the historical data. Doing this causes a circular error when using max.

@buttercream You could get the MAX index from the table and seed a modified Sequential perhaps:
Sequential - Microsoft Fabric Community
In Power Query you could grab the max index and then modify the Index step:
= Table.AddIndexColumn(#"Changed Type", "Index", 0, 1, Int64.Type)
Replace the 0 with your max index from the other table.
