Helper IIHow to connect to a gateway data source?
Hi,
I am new to Power BI. I have installed the gateway (not personal) on our office server. I have successfulyl linked a folder datasource via gateways on the Power BI website. How when using Desktop do I access the data (in my case CSV's and XLXS files) in the datasource?
My web portal is showing no datasets, even though the datasource connection is connecting fine and sucessfull. I have even tried adding one of the files in the folder as a file and that connects successfully. However I have no idea how to utilise the data in desktop. Eventually I'd like to progress to Pro so i can shedule refreshes etc.... for our teams to have uptodate dashboards.
I really need an idiots guide/video to this and using gateways. I cna't seams to find much that covers it all simply.

On-premises data gateway is a tool to connect cloud services with on-premises data source.
If I understand you correctly, you are trying to connect datasource to Power BI Service through gateway? I'm afraid it's not how it works. The general process is to use the desktop to connect to the data source and publish it to the web. Then use the gateway to connect to the data source, so that local data and cloud data could be refreshed synchronously.
