We are using the new composite modeling feature on two fact tables (two general ledgers).
Both fact tables rely on separate tabular models.
These fact tables can be integrated because fact 1 has another date period than fact table 2.
We would like to perform an union. So we could an integrated result on top of the measures questioned.
But given the fact these are two separate tables joined to the same dimension these tables seem not be capable to be unionized in the query.
So we have to build separate measures to add them to each other.
turnaround(fact 1) turnaround (fact 2)
2012 2000 5000
unionized result
turnaround
2012 7000
The only thing we can do is build extra measures in the dataset combining the two results which results in extra maintenance.
PS
We use a security mechanism within our tabular models reliant on the windows user, therefore a power query dataset is not an option, but power query does allow to unionize these datasets.
