How to change gross/net values in calculations using parameter?

Hey!

I have two different values (Gross and Net investments) and i would like to change calculations between gross and net values using parameter.

For example: When i choose net investments from parameter, then Investments.PastYear calculation would use net values and when I choose gross investments from parameter, then calculation would use gross values.

Picture of created parameter:

Thanks for the help!

As you see, i have two values (net and gross investments) in parameter. If I change to gross investments from parameter, then Net.INV PY calculation does not change to gross invetments PY. I know, that Net.IN.PY formula only uses Net investment values from "Adex andmed" data table, but I would like to know, is it possible to write a calculation like that, which changes from gross to net and vice versa depending on the choice made in the parameter.

So you could make a second parameter which switches the column that you need but a simpler solution woulod be to make a bookmark where you have one table as you need it, then a second bookmark where that table is hidden and the new table you need is shown. This can be done in View - Selection + Bookmarks. There are youtube videos on how to set up bookmarks, they are quite easy!

I think the bookmark solution would be a better choice. Once you have the bookmarks set up just create two buttons to switch between them (you can have it appear as one button by hiding one when you click the other, just like with the tables).

Step one: Make your two tables

Step two: select Selection and Bookmark from the view tab on the top ribbon.

Step three: Hide one of the tables, create a bookmark.

Step four: Unhide the first table and hide the second, create a second bookmark.

Step Five: Create two buttons and change their "action" to each of the bookmarks.

If this isn't a solution then apologies for the long response.

Tried that, but I have several different sheets, where i would like to be able to switch between net/gross investments at once. Your solution works, but doesnt match exactly what I need.

But thanks for your reply!

Hey, I'd be happy to help but I'd need a bit more info! Could you show me the dashboard/calculations you're trying to do please? Screenshots would be great! Maybe re-word the question slightly with the screenshots, simpler is better! Example if possible. No need to go through great lengths I just find it a bit hard to understand what you're asking. Thanks!
