How to calculate Average time on train journey

Hi,
Please advice, 

I have Train times and date and I want to calculate the Average time the trains journey has taken by Day and Month. For the below instance, the average time will be 2.30 hrs because it is 10hrs divide by 4 = 2hrs30 mins(2.5).Thanks in advance

Date                Duration(HH: MM)
02/12/1989       2:30

05/12/1989       2:30

08/12/1989       2:15

22/12/1989       2:45

23/12/1989       5:00

There is probably a way to do this with fewer functions, but this seems to work.  It assumes your duration column is of type duration.

Avg Duration = FORMAT(CONVERT(AVERAGE(Trains[Duration]), DATETIME), "hh:mm")
