Hi,
I have a Power bI report using SQL server DB tables and few other data sources [Data Ware house]. I am trying to migrate data connection to Azure Analysis Services [AAS]. I started using Live connection-> Direct Query and selected the 7 tables I need. I could successfully make the connection. But I am having challenge in next step!
The existing report adds "Transform Data" steps [Add new Columns from an existing Col, Merge with another table, etc.] to almost all of the 7 tables. Here is one set of steps for 1 of the tables:
The existing report also builds new datasets from some of these 7 tables.
-My question is how do I implement these "Data Transform" steps in Direct Query mode using AAS? Direct Query doesn't allow me to see the "Data" view or allow any of the "Data Transform" steps on the tables.
Many thanks in advance.
Hello @sohananahid ,
You could copy the M code for the steps from the advanced editor as in the screenshot.

Hi @Idrissshatila - even I have some M code from the existing report which uses "Import" mode for data connection, but now with "Direct Query"- I can't access those datasets if I try "Transform Data", hence can't paste the M code! Did you find a way to access the connected datasets [via Direct Query] in "Transform Data"? Thanks.
