How to add expand button on Row Header in Power Bi in Matrix in Tabuler form per below snapshots

Hi All,

I need help to understand how can I add collapse button in a Power Bi Matrix table on Row Header like i have in Tableau. Below is the snapshot of Tableau format that i have and then need to apply the same in Power Bi.

Item Nbr and Item Name column is in the hierarchy and it collepse into one and hides Item Name. However, in Power Bi it does not apply. I get +/- icons button which applys on each row and hides only one row. I need this to be applicable on the entire column level. Can anyone please help?

Tableau table Before Collapse - it has Item Name in front of Item Nbr.

Tableau Before.png

Tableau table After Collapse - Now Item Nbr is showing and it hided Item Name after collapse and appled on entire Column which is correct.

Tableau After.png

Power Bi Matrix table before collapse - here the collapse button (-) is showing on each row which should only show on Column Header (with Item Nbr only) and once i collaspe it it applies only on a single row, however, it should apply on entire column like Tableau.

Power Bi Matrix table after collapse - it hided the entire row not the entire column like it worked in tableau. It should behave the same way like tableau.

Thanks for the help, that i am aware of. my question was how i can have the same functionlity to collapse or expend the row entirely like we have in Tabluea... Please refer the snapshot that i added.

While clicking on the - button it collapse only one row, however, in Tabluea it collapse entire column.

Hi @kasai16

Power BI's matrix doesn't support such behavior, and if this feature is important to you, you can propose an idea about this, you can submit your idea by going to the link below:

Hi @kasai16

When you hover over the top right of the visual you some icons will appear and on the 3 icons on the left side of these are the hierarchy options that expand and collapse all rows or columns
