Hi All,
I have created a matrix visual from columns and measures coming from various tables. They have realtionships with the master table and hence have able to come together.
I have also enabled "show on rows" in the Values section in the format tab of matrix visual so that I have my list of KPI's on the right side with countries as column
Example:
Australia India Korea Japan
KPI 1 12 15 18 20
KPI 2
KPI 3
KPI 4
I have recieved a master table with the list of KPI's grouped together into another group called "Groups"
Example:
KPI | Groups
KPI 1 | GROUP A
KPI 2 | GROUP A
KPI 3 | GROUP B
KPI 4 | GROUP C
I want to include the Groups column to my existing Matrix Visual but I am unable to since it has no relationships at all.
Expected Output :
Australia India Korea Japan
GROUP A KPI 1 12 15 18 20
GROUP A KPI 2
GROUP B KPI 3
GROUP C KPI 4
Any idea how I can make this work?
Hi @Anonymous ,
I don't quite understand your data model.
Please show the data of your fact tables in the form of a copyable table and explain the relationship between them, you can make the sample with Excel.

Hi @Anonymous - if i understood this correctly:
You have 2 tables, one
Australia India Korea Japan
KPI 1 12 15 18 20
KPI 2
KPI 3
KPI 4
And another table as
KPI | Groups
KPI 1 | GROUP A
KPI 2 | GROUP A
KPI 3 | GROUP B
KPI 4 | GROUP C
You need to show the Group names along with KPI's in Metrics.
is there a reason you cannot create a relationship in power BI data model?
You just need to drag drop KPI columns from both tables in modelling tab and it will detect the relationship automatically
Please let me know if this helps or if you need any further info.
Cheers,
