Hello Community,
I have a number of Measures that were created by a 3rd Party. Is it possible to view the code used to create a view?
For example in the image there is a Measure called 'Dynamic M1 CU preview'. I would like to see how the code for the Measure.
Is that possible?

Hi @carlton7372 ,
I see that you are not able to view the DAX of the measure because you have downloaded a live connection online data pbix. Instead download copy of the report to access all the DAX details.
Hope that helps.

- If the measure is created inside your PBIX (DAX measure), you can see and edit it in the formula bar.
- If it’s from a DirectQuery source (cube, SQL view, or published dataset), you can’t view or edit it in Power BI—check the source model or ask the admin.

Hi, it depends.
If the “Dynamic M1 CU preview” measure is a DAX measure in the PBIX then yes, you can view it. Under Report/Model view, click measure and you will see it in the formula bar.
If it’s coming from the source model in DirectQuery, e.g. a measure built in the cube or SQL view or a published PBI dataset, the measure is defined in the source model, not in your PBIX and you can’t see the SQL/DAX from Power BI. In this case you’ll need to open the source model or ask the DB/cube admin.
Hi Mason,
Thanks for getting in touch.
I'm fairly new to Power BI. I can't see it under Report/Model:
Hi!
On your left-side View pane i cannot see 'Table View' icon (for details please refer to https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-data-view) which usually indicates you are on a DirectQuery/live connection (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-directquery-about)
In this case, to see how the Measures are defined, you may need to reach out to the Semantic Model Owner/DB admin and request to see the source file:)
