How to Sum columns in edit queries.

Hi All,

 

I have a very simple requirement to sum the below 3 score columns using custom column, can anyone please help me with that.

 

 

I am using the above code and getting an error. Is there anyother way to do the same ?

    Power Bi is different to Excel. There is no reason to do this as a custom column as you describe. Best practice is to write a measure in DAX. However if you want to proceed, make sure the data types of all columns are numeric before you perform this step. It otherwise looks fine.

    Hi abhishekpati86,

    Why not directly create a new column using the formula as below?

    NewColumn = Table1[Questionnaire score]+Table1[Relationship_score]+Table1[Size score]

    Detailed steps are as follows.

    1. Right click your table in Data view and choose ”New column”.


    2. Apply the above formula as shown in the following screenshot.
