Hi All,
I have a data set that can be summarized by Fiscal Year, Fiscal Quarter, Fiscal Period, and Fiscal Week. In a line chart that I have created I was able to sort the Fiscal Weeks on the X-Axis using the sortOrder column on the far right of the table below. However, I can't seem to do the same thing for Fiscal Period - PBI will not allow me to sort my Fiscal Period column using the sortOrder column because there can only be one sortOrder number for each Fiscal Period. So, my question is, how do I accomplish a sort sorder for my Year, Quarter, Period, and Week at the same time?
I am very new to PBI, so please bear with me!
Hi @kcngnkc ,
Your demand is a good idea, while it is not supported to implement in Power BI currently. You can post your new idea in Idea Forum , to improve the Power BI.
It is a place for customers to provide feedback about Microsoft Office products . What’s more, if a feedback is high voted there by other customers, it will be promising that Microsoft Product Team will take it into consideration when designing the next version in the future.
Best Regards,
Amy

@kcngnkc yes you have to have another sort column for the fiscal period, basically, you can have only a unique combination between the column you are sorting and column you are sorting on.
In this case:
ALL P1 rows will have one sort value and all P2 will have one sort value and so on..
I would ❤ Kudos if my solution helped. 👉 If you can spend time posting the question, you can also make efforts to give Kudos whoever helped to solve your problem. It is a token of appreciation!
